Bravo Ed! You do all of humanity credit with your willingness to accept responsibility for your mistakes. I’ve always liked you as an NFL Ref and the recent incident had done absolutely nothing to alter that… however your open and honest response has solidified your place as a “role model” in my book. Good man.
I wish other referees would be as humble as you, Ed. You are the most decorated active referee. No official in sports has an excuse to hide behind clichés after you admit your human error. I hope you officiate another Super Bowl soon!
