Believe it or not, Mike Carey and his crew had a terrible game in Indy with one of those that was also called a down over. No foul but replay the down for no apparent reason.
Guys: What are your opinions of Blakeman so far this year? I think he’s one of the strongest first year refs in a long time. Also, can’t name the name but I’m told Triplette is definitely one of the retirees due to the hip
What does help Clete is that he has an umpire that takes no **** from anyone.
I have been VERY impressed with Blakeman! And yes, DeFelice is a great guy to have on a crew with a new referee. I hope the NFL uses this as an example that some of the top DI guys can make the transition to Sundays. I hope to see Scott Novak and some others make the move.
That’s too bad-he’s my favorite. Interesting that he worked both Brown-Bengal games-I guess that’s allowed no-refs working both games of a divisional series.
