Are all the Refs the same as last season? Any changes?
Mike Carey has retired and will be doing work for CBS this year
Ron Winter and Scott Green also retired.
Hochuli in AZ.
Brad Davis (Uniform # 131) is the first rookie official in the NFL to be assigned as a referee since the 1960’s.
It’s Brad Allen not Brad Davis.
My mistake, I am sorry.
I believe his uniform number is 122, as well.
He has a great BJ to take care of him.
Hall of fame game Gene Steratore
NE@WSH Jerome Boger
Hahahahahahahaha Lorenzo.
Go cook my dinner.
Anyone know who has PFHOF game?
Walt Anderson is the ref! Walt is a good ref!

Last time Morelli was here in BAL, it was snowing like crazy for the Dec. 8 game with MIN. Sunny and 85 now…
Ronald Torbert and Craig Wrolstad are the other new lead referees.
does anyone know if Shawn Hochuli is related to Ed?
He is his son

This means that Terry McAulay, the Super Bowl referee last year, gets the bye.
Please some supervisor watch the Broncos Seahawks game and look at the terrible officiating. The officials, it appeared, were trying to make sure the Seahawks would win! Many very wrong calls, they need to be educated or fired!!!!!!!!!!!!
Corrente is a GREAT referee and with the retirements, has become one of the elders. (Perry is a HUGE loss, Green was respectable, and it was time to go for Winter.) Directly to your point, remember this is preseason for the officials as well. They try to get done work with their crews at training camps/scrimmages but that is not the same. I’m sure a few crews got shuffled around (likely pairing veteran officials with rookie referees to balance things out). Tonight may very well have been the first time for the crew.
All I can do is offer you the advice that wisdom comes with age. I would have reacted the same as you in my late 20s (10 years ago). It remains to be seen what the new referees bring (3 is roughly 1/5.5 of all referees). Guns has been a side show ever since his Madden work and blown SD/DEN call….Walt A is HORRIBLE, C isn’t much better, and Vinovich should have remained retired.
If you don’t know much of the “behind the scenes”stuff do yourself a favor and read Peter King’s article where he followed Steratore for a week. I’ve got all the respect in the world for him and it shows what pressures and assessments they go through weekly. It opened my eyes quite a bit.
WTF! The refs for the Broncos game are horrible!
Torbert will one day be a great official but… He has obviously taken after Johnny Grier’s slow, deliberate approach on the mic. I hope they figures it out by Week One but the crew looks to be one which officiates way too close to the rule book. They were a little too happy to throw pre-snap and post play flags. I’m almost positive they likely would have been marked down 2-3 times if it was the regular season. Looking forward to seeing who is assigned to Thursday’s game.
All I have to say is…Terry McAulay hasn’t done a Ravens game since 2010. That’s insane. There’s still hope for this year.
