ESPN says we may just get the regulars back for Sunday’s games. It would be awfully hard to get a crew of regulars in for the Ravens-Browns game Thursday, I would think, but it’s looking good nonetheless that the lockout is pretty much over.

The REAL NFL Officials do not have their Nike Uniforms… They are locked up at DFW, TX Airport. Plus they have to fly into DFW, TX go to their Hotel(Irving, TX) vote on agreement & have a short clinic.

I do not see the Real Referees working Thursday Night Game…. also trying to get all 121 Officials Plane Tickets and get them out to their games on via Saturday… to work Sunday.. The owners are greedy already and to spend BIG BUCKS to get Real Refs on the field…. no…. Ughhh I would like to have them back.. do not see it happening WK #4.

Watching ESPN, chris mortenson just stated that a deal could be forthcoming soon. I have to agree with sporting becky regarding the NFL regular refs being on the field this week. This will be the last week of scab refs.

I was getting use to watching the games with the scab refs. I kind of like the everything goes tactics in the games, which resulted unpredictability. Will this type of football continue under the scab refs.

Man I hope not. NYG @ PHI is always a very hard fought game with a lot of tension between the two teams and Boger is not the best official for those sort of games. Not to mention he is not the most articulate on the mic and the league will want to put their best foot forward in the primetime games early on. My guess would be John Parry as by reports I recall reading he had the top ranked crew last year (no changes in crews between 2011 and 2012) and living in Ohio it will be easier for him to get to Philly than some other destinations this week

The sad part is I think he would be an improvement over Jerome Boger who was ranked 16th or 17th among NFL Referees last year based on the fact that he and Scott Green, who missed time with an injury, were the only two Referees who did not receive a playoff or alternate assignment (Core is probably the only replacement official I can say that about)

i disagree. Boger doesn’t have the best microphone presence, but he’s good. Core was the best of the scabs, still nowhere near good enough to be in Boger’s place. Core couldn’t do D1.

“After the euphoria of the moment wears off, probably sometime early in the second quarter, it’ll be back to regular NFL football mode,” said referee Gene Steratore, who will head to Green Bay for Sunday’s game, one week after Packers players ripped the replacements over Monday’s disputed touchdown.

Well, there are clues that can help, besides looking up their numbers. The HL and LJ are the two officials at the line of scrimmage. The SJ and FJ work deep along the sideline, and the BJ works deep in the middle. The U works behind the offense.

The new uniforms do have the letters on them, just above the numbers on the back, unless the BJ in Atlanta is wearing the wrong shirt

Anybody watch Sunday’s late game on Fox?
Triplette & crew really blew that “fumble” call, calling it ‘down by contact’…Fans went nuts. At least GB won the game or controversy would be there again. AND, did you see how Triplette
gets angry? He can’t handle the pressure.

No way to sugar coat it that was a bad call. But the up tick in officiating more than compensated for a few bad calls this weekend. Watching the Bills/Pats game for instance, the Parry led crew seemed to be in control and called a good game.

I agree. I was impressed with most crews – I would have expected a little bit more rust, on average.
