Bronson since the referees were locked out, is the NFL using the replay officials that the referee would have had if there had not been a lockout??

Two votes for Riveron here in BAL and one for Coleman… for what it’s worth, Riveron did the AFC title game (BAL-NE) last year and Coleman did BAL-PIT in midseason and CLE-BAL in Wk 16… seen a lot of these two lately…

Yep, Mike, we can confirm that here. Nice work!… Carey had the NYJ-BAL Sunday-nighter last year and the BAL-KC playoff game in 2010. He also threw Suggs out of a 21-penalty loss in Detroit in 2005…

since I usually start doing this around week 5/6 when it gets narrowed down to only a few officials eligible per game, I wasn’t going to list who can work what game, but I am bored at work, so here is who cannot work each game.

    Pitt-Tenn –> confirmed Hochuli
Oak-Atl –> NOT PM, BL, EH, MC or WC
Cin-Cle –> NOT GS, CB, EH, MC or WC
StL-Mia –> NOT SG, JP, EH, MC or WC
Indy-NYJ –> NOT TC, WA, SG, EH, MC or WC
Det-Phil –> NOT CB, RW, TC, EH, MC or WC
    Dal-Balt –> confirmed Mike Carey
    KC-TB –> confirmed Walt Coleman
NE-Sea –> NOT JP, TM, GS, EH, MC or WC
Buf-AZ –> NOT JP, SG, JB, EH, MC or WC
NYG-SF –> NOT CB, JB, RW, TC, EH, MC or WC
Min-Was –> NOT CB, AR, JT, BL, EH, MC or WC
GB-Hou –> NOT CC, JT, WA, SG, EH, MC or WC
Den-SD –> NOT CC, BL, PM, GS, EH, MC or WC

not likely to have the week off: JB, TM, AR
won’t have week off: EH, WC, MC

    my picks:
    Pitt-Tenn: CONFIRMED ed hochuli
    Oak-Atl: Jerome Boger
    Cin-Cle: Carl Cheffers
    StL-Mia: Al Riveron
    Indy-NYJ: John Parry
    Det-Phil: Terry McAalay
    Dal-Balt: CONFIRMED mike carey
    KC-TB: CONFIRMED walt coleman
    NE-Sea: Tony Corrente
    Buf-AZ: Bill Leavy
    NYG-SF: Pete Morelli
    Min-Was: Scott Green
    GB-Hou: Ron Winter
    Den-SD: Clete Blakeman

also, as I was rereading this I noticed a geographical trend; by pure coincidence, I have nearly every white hat near his home (except for Winter and Cheffers)

      my picks:
      Pitt-Tenn: CONFIRMED ed hochuli
      Oak-Atl: Jerome Boger (from Atlanta)
      Cin-Cle: Carl Cheffers (from Cali)
      StL-Mia: Al Riveron (from Miami)
      Indy-NYJ: John Parry (from Ohio)
      Det-Phil: Terry McAalay (from Baltimore?)
      Dal-Balt: CONFIRMED mike carey
      KC-TB: CONFIRMED walt coleman
      NE-Sea: Tony Corrente (from Cali)
      Buf-AZ: Bill Leavy (from Cali)
      NYG-SF: Pete Morelli (from Cali)
Min-Was: Scott Green (from Northern VA)
      GB-Hou: Ron Winter (from Michigan)
      Den-SD: Clete Blakeman (from Nebraska)

Actually based on assignments in last year’s playoffs the worst ref in 2011 was Jerome Boger or Scott Green (the only two R not to receive either an on field assignment or an Alternate)

Scott Green was injured late in the season, so that was probably the reason for his exclusion, not because of merit.

    Alberto Riveron for Bills-Cardinals.

Bryon Boston is subbing also in Vinovich’s game at LJ for the retired Barnes. That means Walt Anderson’s crew likely has the week off.

That matches up with the ones I was going to post here.

One other interesting tidbit: Jeff Lamberth is substituting on Jeff Triplette’s crew at SJ. If I’m not mistaken, this is his first regular season game since 2010.

There are several possible reasons, and I don’t know which is correct offhand. Perhaps he chooses not to, perhaps a past Redskins game was controversial, perhaps it’s random chance.

i can’t recall him having anything controversial with the Skins, but just fyi, his last game was MIN@WAS in 2006. (wk1)

If it was already poseted I apologize for the question – when was the last time that Bill Vinovich worked? Assuming it has been a while (at least a couple of years) and that he, like all of the others, did not get reps in pre-season, how rusty will he be?

Last worked on the field in the playoffs after the 2006 season. However, he has served as a Replay Assistant and Observer/Supervisor in the intervening years so it is not like he has been totally out of the game
